Sand Castle, Handprinted redcution lino cut Artists’ Proof

Original price was: £135.00.Current price is: £40.00.

Mulit layered, reduction linoprint . To make this print the same lino block was inked and carved several times, starting with the pale colours and working through to the darker or brighter colours of the foreground. This is a legthy process and this print has more that 10 layers of colour.

This print was inspired by Harlech Castle in North Wales which stands on the hillside overlooking the sand dunes. From down on the beach it can appear to be sitting amongst the dunes.

The printed area is approximately A4.

This print is in the sale because it was the ‘Artists Proof’ the first print in the series which was used to test the colour layers before each colour was applied to the rest of the prints in the edition. This print has a slight tare on the surface of the paper down in the bottom left corner. There is also a tiny corner missing where tape holding the print in place was covering the printing area. This flaw is shown in the photo and would be very subtle once the print is framed.
